Student Data Project Requirments

 

Below is a list of ways you will format your Excel Spreadsheet.  You will also sort and filter the data in several ways.  You will also make use of the Autosum feature.

 

Your Student Data Excel project must show the following:

 

Formulas and Formatting (5 points each = total 25 points)

 

  1. Header is filled in (Title and Name).
  2. All of the Column headings are Bold.
  3. Column Widths are adjusted or Text Wrapped so that all of the words fit in them.
  4. The text is centered in the columns and Borders (grids) are applied to all tables.
  5. All of the data is in the correct format:
    1. all birthdays are in the 1/5/97 format
    2. all shoe sizes and siblings are in the numerical format (1,2,3 etc)

 

Sorting  (10 points each = Total 30 points)

Each of the following should appear on a different sheet in your Excel file.

1.    Sort by elementary school, then alphabetical by last name

2.    Sort by school, then by birthday (oldest to youngest)

3.    Do your choice of a sort

 

Filtering (10 points each = Total 20 points)

Each of the following should appear on a different sheet in your Excel file.

  1. Filter – show all students with 2 or more siblings
  2. Do a Filter of your choice

Use the Autosum button to find Averages and Min/Max (10 points each=Total 20 Points)

Each of the following should appear on a different sheet in your Excel file.

     1. Find the Average number of siblings and the average shoe size

     2. Find the Maximum number of siblings and the Minumum shoe size

 

All work is organized properly in using worksheet tabs (5 Points)

You should have 7 worksheet tabs at the bottom of your file when you are completed (3 sorted tabs, and 2 filtered tabs, 2 1 Average tab, and 1 Minimum/Maximum tab). 

 

The tabs should be named the following:

  • Original
  • Sort school, name
  • Sort school, birthday
  • Sort “your choice”
  • Filter 2 siblings
  • Filter “your choice”
  • Averages
  • Min/Max
